School t-shirt for 2019: Order is closed

Hale Cook students, parents and teachers voted, and this is our shirt for the school year. Ordering is closed, and shirts will be delivered soon.

Hale Cook PTA invites you to attend:

Picnic in January
Hale Cook Trivia Night

All proceeds from this event will go toward funding a Spanish-language program at Hale Cook Elementary.

Saturday, January 26, 2019
Doors open at 6:30 pm

St. Elizabeth Catholic Church - Seton Hall
74th Terrace and Main Street
(Parking available in the parking lot behind the church on 74 Terrace. Follow the stairs down to Seton Hall.)

  • Beer and beverages are provided
  • Bring a picnic basket of snacks and drinks to share with your table (additional adult beverages are welcome)
  • BBQ platters will also be for sale for $7 a plate (proceeds go to Hale Cook!)
  • Bid on amazing items in our silent auction. Highlights include: summer camp, photography packages, so many restaurant gift certificates, Kate Spade sunglasses, karate classes, and many other offerings from businesses from around our school, neighborhood, and city.

Cash and checks are preferred, though we will have a card reader available as well.

Cost is $4.50 per skater plus $1 skate rental


All families, teachers and staff welcome.

At least one parent must stay to supervise their child/children (or skate!).

May 1 marks the start of Staff Appreciation Week!

TUESDAY, MAY 2 - Help us provide an incredible STAFF APPRECIATION BREAKFAST in the Teacher’s Lounge (please bring items to the teacher’s lounge by 7:30am).  www.PerfectPotluck.com/meals.php?t=KPMR7278

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3 - Show your appreciation by having your student deliver hand-made cards/drawings to teachers, HC Staff and LINC Staff. Deliver them directly to teachers OR put them in boxes in the school office (feel free to do this ANY day of the week!).

THURSDAY, MAY 4 - Shower your classroom teacher and/or HC staffers with gift cards or other gifts you know they will love! Check with your classroom liaison to find out if they have a “FAVORITES” list for your child’s teacher (feel free to do this any day of the week!).

April 25 All Member PTA Meeting

Join us for the final meeting of this school year (wow, the year went fast)! We'll celebrate successes of the year, conduct officer elections for the 2017/18 school year and begin planning for the new school year. Dinner will be provided! And thanks to LINC for once again offering childcare (children don't need to be currently registered for LINC). We'll see you in the Hale Cook Cafeteria at 6pm.

Spring Carnival and BBQ on April 21

This spring's BBQ is bigger than ever ... in fact, it has become a Carnival! Thanks to the generous support of Restore Community Church, our tasty BBQ dinner will be enhanced with many carnival games and activities, including --

- Ba-Skee-Ball 
- Strike Zone 
- Fingy Dingy
- Bean bag toss clown

Garden Day on April 8

Please plan to help with Garden Day at Hale Cook this Saturday, April 8, from 9 to 11am. We made great progress prepping the gardens last month and after all the wonderful April showers this week, we're eager to further prepare our butterfly garden, vegetable garden and orchard for the beauty of spring. Bring gloves, trowels and shovels, if you have them. Families welcome!

It's our favorite time of year ... time to shop for next year's school supplies! And it's so easy! Plus proceeds help purchase supply kits for fellow students in need.

Due to threat of snowy, icy weather BOTH the Brookside St. Patrick's Day and Hale Cook garden work day were postponed. So be sure to join us on Saturday, MARCH 18 for both activities. Gardening at Hale Cook from 9 to 11 a.m. Then line up for the Brookside St. Patrick's Day parade (details on our home page) at 1:30 p.m. See you then!
