Please help us renovate our Eco Arts Center. The community group that owns the old Pedernales Cinema (unused for 10 years) has agreed to a low-cost long-term lease to help us bring our Arts Center to their community. Our renovation will include a kiln to fire traditional Haitian clay jewelry and other ceramic pieces. We make our jewelry and art pieces from recycled products and local materials, including paper, paint, clay, seedpods and concrete rubble from the Port-a-Prince earthquake. Our current space is too far away for many of our artists to travel everyday, and it doesn’t have a kiln. Pedernales is on the Dom. Rep./ Haitian border, and Haitian artists can walk to the new location to work each day. There is also space to teach classes. Thank you.
