Monthly Meetings and Directions

Please see our Events page for details about our next meeting.

Haiku Northwest holds regular monthly meetings at 7:00 p.m., usually on the fourth Thursday of the month (unless that day is a holiday), and usually at a location on the Seattle eastside (sometimes in Seattle). In addition to occasionally having a featured reader or other activity, our meetings focus on reading and discussing our poems. Members are encouraged to bring printed copies of five or six haiku, senryu, or tanka they plan to read (10 copies are usually sufficient, with all poems on one sheet). You are also welcome to just listen or comment if you'd rather not read your own work. We also share announcements of regional and national haiku events, show new books and journals related to haiku, and enjoy refreshments together. In addition, we sometimes have other events, such as formal poetry readings or nature walks. Everyone is welcome to attend any event, whether you're a member of Haiku Northwest or the Haiku Society of America or not, and all events are usually free. Please join us for our next meeting!
