Biography: Hafiz Ahmed received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2011, the M.Sc. degree in systems, control and information technology from Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble, France, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control from Inria Lille Nord Europe and the University of Lille 1, Villeneuve d’Ascq, France, in 2016. He was a Postdoctoral fellow with Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA, followed by academic appointments in Bangladesh with the University of Asia Pacific and North South University. Since 2017, he has been with the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering, Coventry University, Coventry, U.K. He is currently interested in the modeling, identification, control and estimation of nonlinear systems with applications to energy and environment.
Dr. Ahmed’s PhD research received national and European recognition. In the European level, he was the ex-aequo recipient of the annual European PhD Award on Control for Complex and Heterogeneous Systems (2018) given by the European Embedded Control Institute. In the national level, he was the recipient of the Best Ph.D. Theses award (2017) from the Research Cluster on Modeling, Analysis and Management of Dynamic Systems (GDR MACS), National Council of Scientific Research, France.
Dr. Ahmed is currently serving as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education. He is a regular reviewer of numerous journals by reputed publishers like IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis etc. in the area of systems and control, renewable and sustainable energy.
