The Kaippatta Habel Foundation is a registered ecumenical organisation under Tranvancore Charitable Act-12 of 1955. It is in memory of Habel who was the first individual embraced Christianity from among the poor Hindu community in Kerala. His conversion took place in Kaippatta, a village very close to Malappally in Pathanamthitta District , Kerala, India on 6th Sept.1854. This incident was a turning point in Christian history as well as the cultural history of Kerala.
Kaippatta Habel Foundation (KHF) has been organizing various welfare programmes like leadership training, counselling, career guidance and educational programmes for the backward sections of the society during the past years. It has also decided to extend financial as well as moral support to the poor among the backward sections in their educational pursuit.
