Public Health Update - April 30, 2009

In order to provide you with up-to-date information regarding swine flu cases (H1N1 Influenza
A) and other public health issues, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department Information
Office will issue Public Health Updates to notify you of any new developments. The following
reflects the status of probable swine flu cases in Santa Clara County. 
Santa Clara County Public Health Department officials have identified six (6) probable cases of
swine flu. Currently, these specimens are being sent to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
for confirmatory testing. The following reflects the numbers of cases reported from Santa Clara
County:

Total number of probable swine flu cases  6
Confirmed swine flu cases 0
Number of samples tested through 4/29/09 99
