GWAMIT core programming
Orientation Women's Welcome Lunch (OWWL)
At the beginning of every academic year, GWAMIT hosts a welcome lunch for all incoming graduate women. This popular event, drawing upwards of 350 attendees, is a great opportunity to meet fellow grad women and hear about various resources at MIT including ODGE, MIT medical, MIT Venture Mentoring Services, MIT Police etc.

GWAMIT's Leadership Conference, organized every fall, brings influential speakers from across to country to talk to the GWAMIT community about topics such as networking, communication skills, writing research papers etc. This week-long series of events if focused on professional development.

The GWAMIT Empowerment Conference takes place every spring and bringing together a week of events focused on personal development including those focused on building a personal brand, different career paths, communication skills etc.

The GWAMIT Mentoring Program matches graduate student and post-docs with women faculty and alumni. The Mentoring committee organizes events all year and runs a blog series to help participants get the most from the program.

As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts. GWAMIT, in collaboration with the GSC, established the Positivity@MIT campaign and event series to help make MIT more welcoming for people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, and cultures. GWAMIT holds regular (~1 per semester) social events to bring together members from across MIT. Past events have included a tour of the Taza chocolate factory, and Harpoon Brewery tasting and tour with Harvard and BU Graduate Women in Science and Engineering.
