Elizabeth Kowalski

Elizabeth Kowalski, Membership Chair [ejk [at] mit [dot] edu]. I am a fourth year Ph.D. Student in Electrical Engineering (course 6), with a focus on Engineering Physics. I work in the Waves and Beams Division of the Plasma Science and Fusion Center. My research focuses on high-power, high-frequency vacuum electronic devices. Specifically, I will be building a novel overmoded 95 GHz Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier.

With GWAMIT, I hope that we can create a strong forum to discuss woman's concerns, issues, and everyday lives at MIT. I've always been an advocate for women in science and engineering, and I feel like GWAMIT offers a much-needed opportunity for us, as women, to feel like we are a part of a tightly knit community.
