I am an economist working on environmental, health and development issues. Currently, I am an assistant professor appointed jointly at Division of Social Science, Division of Environment and Sustainability, and Department of Economics at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST, 2014-now). I am also a faculty affiliate of HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies and Institute for Public Policy. Before joining HKUST, I was a research fellow at Harvard School of Public Health(2013–2014) and obtained my Ph.D. degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from U.C. Berkeley (2008–2013). I received undergraduate education from School of Economics at Peking University (2004–2008).

My current research focuses on understanding the complex interactions between economic development, environment, and human health. Given the interdisciplinary feature of these issues, I publish papers in both economics journals and scientific journals. Please refer to the Research page or my Google Scholar Profile for a list of my papers.
