Zhang Lab

We are in the Department of Food Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Our research interests include lipid metabolism, natural products, angiogenesis, inflammation and cancer.  Our main lab is located in Chenoweth 253.

  • April 2015: Elvira is a finalist for IFT Undergraduate Research Competition, she will present her research of curcumin on lymphangiogenesis in IFT meeting in Chicago, Congratulations!
  • Feb 2015: Our review paper is the Most Downloaded Prostaglandins & Other Lipid Mediators articles. See POLM.
  • July 2014: Our review paper of omega-3 lipid mediators was accepted for publication in Prostaglandins Other Lipid Mediat., Congratulations to Weicang, Julia and Fei.
  • June 2014: Our COX-2/sEH paper was accepted for publication in PNAS (see Full Text, Press Release)
  • April 2014: Guodong is a finalist for ACS/AGFD Young Scientist Award, the competition will be at the 2014 ACS National Meeting in San Francisco. 
  • March 2014: Guodong and Hang win the Armstrong Fund for Science Award of UMass (see University Press Release).
  • March 2014: Guodong receives Outstanding Poster Award in Diabetes-Cancer Section of the 15th International Winter Eicosanoid Conference.
  • March 2014: Guodong is an editor of International Journal of Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Jan 2014: Guodong is invited to give a talk in FASEB Science Research Conference "Phospholipid Cell Signaling and Metabolism in Inflammation and Cancer".
  • Nov, 2013: Our review paper of bioactive lipids is published in Progress in Lipid Research.                                                
  • Nov, 2013: Guodong is invited to give a talk in session of "Eicosanoids and Cancer" in The 15th International Winter Eicosanoid Conference.
  • Dec, 2013: Lab renovation is completed, we will move into Chenoweth 253.
