Developing Student-led Small Group Discussion of Student-Selected and Developed Video Content
by Kevin Ryan

Kevin Ryan visited from Tokyo and presented about Flipping Video as a way to introduce a lot of ideas about using technology in the language class. We looked at empowering student autonomy by getting them to choose YouTube videos and integrate them into online lessons at TedEd (or EdPuzzle) and then presenting them in small groups to other students (after the others did the online lessons).

Kevin Ryan has been teaching for more than 40 years,
mostly in Tokyo, but with experiences in Nanjing, Chicago and Barcelona. He started using computers in class in 1991.
