On my way to recovery I found the game ‘Steekje los’. There was an online version, and I could become a volunteer game leader. I went to the training in Arnhem and was a game leader for the online version for a few years (2013 - Sept. 2015). I even played this online game from Australia with Dutch players in The Netherlands.
There were a lot of versions of the online game, and it was very popular when it started. The benefit of the game was that it was a good way to start a conversation, but as a game leader I had to be aware to not let everybody react on all the stories people were telling during the game. It is a game about stigma on mental health and it is a good way to get people talking on things they don’t usually talk about.
The data of the chat and the participant was sometimes used for research, or the game were based on research. This data is data that is qualitative and has to be interpret. It is not the basic data and is just collected and sometimes used and therefore Big Data.
