Guido Fratesi, born in 1978, received the Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Theory from the International School of Advanced Studies (SISSA/ISAS) of Trieste (Italy) in 2005, with a dissertation entitled "Low temperature methane-to-methanol conversion on transition metal surfaces", supervised by Prof. Stefano de Gironcoli.
In 2006 he was post-doctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Giovanni Onida at the Physics Department of the University of Milano (Italy), and fromĀ  2007 to 2013 in the group of Prof. Gian Paolo Brivio at the Materials Science Department of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy).
From 2014 to 2016 and from 2017 to 2019: research scientist at the Physics Department of the University of Milano (Italy).
