About Proctele

Proctele AB is a Swedish company founded in 2010. Its mission is to develop applications for Apple's iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Proctele AB är ett Svenskt företag som startades 2010 för att tillverka appar för Apples iPhone, iPod touch och iPad.

Två av våra appar lär ut grundskolans matematik.

This page presents the Apps released by Proctele

NumberWiz

is a math game classic. They've been playing it on French TV since 1965, and on British TV since 1982!! You get six random numbers and a result. Then you combine the numbers by using the four basic math operators to get the result. It's a truly fantastic brain game!

NumberWiz is for the iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad. It has the same name in all the localized App Stores. CreativeYouth in Helsingborg, Sweden designed the icon.

Here are iPhone screen-shots of the app's three screens:

The new v2.7 allows you to determine the Big numbers yourself as long as they're in the range 10 - 100. This means you can play with Big numbers like, say 15, 33, 71 and 97.
V2.7 also allows you to set the range of results. You can select the ranges 1-199, 1-399, 1-599, 1-799 and 1-999. That means you can decide the difficulty of the game to some extent. Default range is 1-999.

We thank uploader Splashdust at freesound.org for the flip card sound.

There is also a free version of this app called "NumberWiz - Free", which has the following names in the localized App Stores:

The Help file for this app was taken from NumberWiz (see top of this page) and a preface was added to explain the difference between them. Here's the preface:

 - This is the NumberWiz game for programmers, and it's called that because it uses different number bases, like programmers do. This app handles octal, hexadecimal and decimal numbers. The text below, starting with the introduction chapter, is taken from the original NumberWiz game. This game differs from the original in the following ways.

Octal: There are 20 octal small numbers, two of each of the numbers 1, …, 10 octal. There are 4 big numbers: 20,40,60,100 octal. The highest result is 777 octal.

Hex: There are 20 hex small numbers, two of each of the numbers 1, …, 10 hex. There are 4 big numbers: 40,80,C0,100 hex. The highest result is FFF hex.

Decimal (for reference): There are 20 small numbers, two of each of the numbers 1, …, 10. There are 4 big numbers: 25,50,75,100. The highest result is 999.

    SMS-Fast

helps you quickly get off a text message or e-mail with a few keystrokes.
It's fast because you already prepared your most common messages and the people who you have most contact with through SMS.

When it comes to texting, do the following:
    - Select one or more messages.
    - Select one or more recipients.
    - Press the SMS button.
    - Press the Send button on the iPhone's message template.

    Done!

A good way to use SMS-Fast, is to place its icon next to your iPhone's green/white messaging icon. If you need to be quick, you use SMS-Fast. If you need to see conversations you use the standard app.

SMS-Fast is for the iPhone only.
    Here's the Icon:

The icon is beautifully crafted and is going to lift your home screen to a new level. The rest of the graphics is eye-candy.

    SMS-Fast advantages:
    - Super fast and discrete SMS sending.
    - You send clearer messages by fewer spelling errors, because you do not have to write just before posting.
    - You can decide at the last minute whether to send the message through SMS, email or both. You lose no time if you change your mind because you don't need to switch to another app for mailing.
    - You can use wildcards in messages. For example, store the message "I will arrive at # or at #." When you press the SMS button, the app will ask you to complete the message. You can then replace the #-signs with 17 and 17:30 and the message will read "I will arrive at 17 or at 17:30."
    - Your message is put into your iPhone's message center, as if you had sent it with the built-in message app.
    - Easy to prepare messages and recipients.
    - You can add more recipients before you press Send in the iPhone's message template.
    - Pleasant graphics.
    - Satisfying sounds.

    Our Restaurant Menu - HD

This app is for restaurant owners and individuals interested in food who want to offer something extra: the menu on an iPad.

    Here's the icon:

As a restaurateur, you can present the menu in an attractive way with images and text.
As an individual, you can in pictures and text present the evening's menu to your guests on your iPad.

Before the guests arrive you can email the menu to them, so they can see it on their iPhone or iPod touch. This requires them to download the free ackompanying App on their devices, which will be available in the App Store within about ten days.

The app can do the following:
    • Present each dish separately with images and text.
    • Present the menu as a list of dishes.
    • Sort dishes on the list by type, such as appetizers, meat dishes, desserts, drinks.
    • Sort dishes by day of week, ie Monday, Tuesday, etc. In that way it becomes a week-menu.
    • Show the dish name, price, detailed description and picture.
    • View the restaurant's logo on the menu.
    • View the restaurant's contact information on the menu.
    • Email the menu and all information about dishes to another iPad, which has the app installed. Good feature if you use multiple iPads in the restaurant.

    Advantages for restaurant owners:

    • Can attract customers by having the menu on an iPad.
    • Displays beautiful pictures of tasty dishes.
    • Clear information about the dishes.
    • Works equally well with iPad in a horizontal position as in the vertical.
    • Change the information about the dishes in a jiffy.
    • No printing involved in menu production, thus quick and cheap.

    Advantages
     for the guests:
    • A different and fun way to study a menu.
    • Easy to browse through the dishes.
    • Quite a lot of information about each dish.
    • A chance to try out an iPad.

Our Restaurant Menu - HD has different names in the localized App Stores, as follows:
English: Our Restaurant Menu - HD
    Swedish: Vår restaurangmeny - HD

HD stands for High Definition, because it's an iPad App.

    Reverse Talk

will make you laugh! Children love it. It's very easy to use.
Record something and then play it backwards or forwards. Playing something backwards really sounds quite different and often very funny.

    Here's the app's icon:

To make it really simple to use, and to enable super quick recordings, the number of buttons has been kept to a minimum. There's a big red recording button, a stop button, a play forwards button and a play backwards button. There's also a switch to select a fixed recording time of 2.5 seconds or to go on recording until you press stop.
Press the red recording button and speak into the device's microphone. In the fixed recording mode, that's all you have to do to record. Listen to your recording backwards or forwards.

You can also send a recording by e-mail: just press the button in the upper left corner of the screen and you'll see the standard e-mail template. You'll notice that the forward and backward recordings are already attached, and all you have to do is select the recipients. This is also how to preserve recordings: send them in an email to yourself. If you prefer, you can remove one of the attachments in the email, by pressing backspace on the virtual keyboard.

We have learned that babies have no need for the Reverse Talk app, because babies already know how to speak in reverse. See http://www.reversespeech.com/Children_Reversals.htm
So, why not try recording your baby's sounds, then play the recording backwards and you might discover it was trying to tell you something.
Note: Proctele and reversespeech.com are NOT affiliated.

Press this icon to see Proctele's apps in the App Store:

    http://AppStore.com/procteleab

Here are iPhone screen-shots of the app's single screen:

It's possible to make a ringtone for your iPhone out of your recordings. The file format is .wav, and if you e-mail your recording to yourself, you can save it to your PC or Mac. Then make a ringtone as described in this link: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2585/iphone_how_to_create_free_ringtones/

Each recording is saved and given a time-stamp name. You can of course rename the recordings. The button on the lower left shows all the recordings. You can delete recordings.

Reverse Talk has the following names in the localized App Stores:
    • SV: Backsnack
    • NL: Achteruit praten
    • DE: Rückwärts reden
    • FR: Inverser parler

    GPS MegaTape - Tape Measure

uses GPS to measure distances. It is a tape measure and a trip-meter.
It measures distances larger than 100 ft / 30m with good accuracy and uses metric or imperial units.

Here's the icon, new for v2.6:

This app puts a mega-sized tape measure in your pocket. No need for step-counters or heavy tape measures. This one is where your iPhone is: close to you. It's there when you need it.

This app is made for iPhone / iPod touch and the iPad. Supports landscape mode on the iPad and iPhone6 plus.

GPS MegaTape is now available on Android too. See Play Store.

It has three screens. One is the tape measure for measuring straight distances, as the bird flies. The other is the odometer, which does the same as a car's trip-meter. Then there's the start-screen where you select to go to the tape measure or the odometer.

It's simple to use, because each of the screens has only one button: the reset button. When the indicator in the screen's top right corner turns green, you'll know the GPS receiver in your device has good contact with the GPS satellites. That means it's time to push the reset button and start to measure. You can always see the distance you're measuring and your longitude and latitude. The odometer also features a digital stop-watch, so you can time your walk.

Starting with version 1.6, you can email the path you've traced in a file attachment. Email it to yourself or a friend and open the attached file with Google Earth to see a bird's view of where you walked. Great feature!

The help-screen can be reached from all three screens.

TCompanion - What direction is ...?

With TCompanion (T=Travel) you mark a place on a map where you want to go. TCompanion will point you which direction to take to get there. Using GPS it knows where you are and it knows your destination, because you told it. TCompanion will point you to the destination whichever way you turn your device.

TCompanion offers mapless navigation. Yes, it's true! Just follow that arrow. Arrow navigation is here :-)

TCompanion uses metric or imperial units to show the distance to the destination.

Using maps is a hassle, even if it's on iPhone, the perfect mobile device. The difficulty is that you have to match points on the map with your immmediate surroundings. That often involves turning the device and looking at street names and comparing them to street signs around you, if you can find them. You might also have to zoom the map. It's difficult. In far-away countries you might not even be able to read street signs.

TCompanion solves this problem for you, by simply pointing with a big arrow what direction you have to move in and how far you are from the destination.

If you have problems finding your car, TCompanion is also for you. Push the "Here" button to mark your car's position and you're sure to find it back.

This app is made for iPhone and is also usable on the iPad.

    Here's the app's icon:

The main screen has the navigation arrow. You go in the pointed direction to reach the destination. This screen also shows the distance to the destination. The "New" button takes you to a map where you can search for a street name or just point on the map. The "List" button shows you a list of the places that you have marked as destinations. Select one of your destinations and tap the "Point" button (on the List screen) and the arrow on the main screen will point you where to go.

TCompanion puts some extra fun into navigation. Let's say you're going to Paris. Before you go you might want to prepare your destinations. You use TCompanion to mark the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre Coeur, the Louvre, the Orsay, the Notre-Dame. You mark those and you end up with a list of destinations. Once in Paris you just open your list, select a destination and say point. Follow the arrow and you'll soon be there.

In the evening you might want to use TCompanion's powerful flash light to help you avoid obstacles or to find your car keys.

By tapping the "Export" button on the list screen you can email all your destinations to a friend. You can also use this feature to save different lists of destinations, by emailing to yourself.

TCompanion also features a compass to show you the cardinal points.

    SmarterNote

Taking notes should be really easy and that's the guiding principle behind this app. SmarterNote is easy to understand and easy to use.
Apart from taking notes, you can use SmarterNote to create a digital postcard, a diary with text and pictures, a photo collection.

There are many instances where putting some text and pictures together in the same note really makes sense: digital postcard, shopping note, diary, documentation of an event or of ownership.

SmarterNote is for both iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 6.

The name was chosen to fit the aim to create a better note-taking app than the top selling one. We think we succeeded.

    Here's the icon:

You can change the note-taking font and font-size.

    Next follow a few screen-shots:

Smarternote is also in Dutch, French, German and Swedish. It has the same name in the localized App Stores.

    The Democracy in Sweden

Yes, it's an app. The Swedish name is Demokratin and it's for the Swedish market, a reference app. You can read the programs of the major political parties and search them for words. You can see the names and pictures of all members of parliament with their mail addresses and home-pages, and more. Press on a member's email-address to tell them what you think. This takes you just a tiny bit closer to your elected representatives.
The app also explains how the Swedish parliament works and you can read the constitutional documents. There are links to the government's site. The app shows the role and power of the EU, explains how to become a government minister and there's lots more.

    HabitXplore

Is for those who want to study their habits. You might want to know if you're doing too much of something, or too little of something. Of course recording a habit has to be fast, very fast. Habitrecording with HabitXplore is as fast as it can be.

This app can also help you remember when you last did something. So how does it work?

Suppose you've listed a few activities for study. Then do the following to register that you're just about to perform the habit:
    • Start HabitXplore
    • Select a habit from the habit-list (table)
    • Press the OK button
    Ready!

    ExerLog - Log Your Workouts

We all know it: these days all you need is your iPhone.
Leave your paper and pen at home: here are your workout sheets, as many as you like!

To keep track of your workouts, it's necessary to take notes of what exercises you did, the repetition count and the weights used. You need a workout sheet.

    Here's the icon:

With this app you create blueprints for workout sheets. When you start working out, you select one of the blueprints. A workout sheet is created on the phone, which you use to take notes during the workout.

This app keeps track of your exercises and helps determine if you're making progress. It does the same as a workout sheet and a bit more, because it's digital. A blueprint/workout-sheet can contain for example:
    -your name
    -workout duration
    -your body weight
    -your starting mood
    -workout location

    and most importantly:
-exercises and the weights and repetitions you use when you perform them.

ExerLog, like most Proctele apps has a built-in help document.
