Our Coaches
Victoria Free
Victoria runs her own barn, Step-N-Free stables, which is also where our team practices.
Paige Harvey
Paige has been training our team for years and manages her own barn and horses as well.
The Facility
We offer multiple lesson options a week at Victoria's barn in Fayetteville, GA which is about 45 minutes away from Georgia Tech. If you don't have a car, don't worry! The team coordinates carpools to get to the barn for lessons.
While the horses and their equipment are provided by Victoria, members are required to bring their own personal equipment. (For more information about this, please contact us.)
Competing
IHSA
The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association is the organization that all US college equestrian clubs compete under. We are located in Zone 5 Region 2 and compete against other schools in the Southeast area.
At the end of every year, during the Spring semester, the top teams and individual riders in each division can move onto IHSA Regional, Zone, and even National finals!
How it Works
At every competition, there are multiple divisions, each designed for different experience levels. Some require riders to complete a course of jumps, while others are only on the flat. Your division placement is determined by your prior experience.
At the beginning of the competition, each rider is randomly assigned a horse. You do not get to ride the horse at all prior to your class, however, you are able to watch someone else warm up the horse. These horses are provided by the participating schools. Since Georgia Tech is not allowed to own any animals, we usually lease horses to use at the competitions.
Team Workouts
All members are required to complete weekly team workouts. These workouts can either be with the team on Sunday evenings, or members can complete their workouts on their own.
For members participating in the team workouts, we will meet at the CRC at a time announced in the GroupMe each week.
Fill out this form once you've completed your workout for the week!
