Sallie Hill

Originally a farm girl and Earth/Environmental Science teacher, Sallie is now the Instructional Technology Resource Specialist (Head of Technology) for the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School.  BRVGS is a public magnet high school that serves students in 7 small rural counties in VA.  Students take hybrid courses where they spend half their time learning in a "traditional" classroom environment and the other half collaborating virtually with students from other schools and university professors on research projects.  During the 2007-2008 school year BRVGS switched to Google Apps for Ed and has been revolutionized.  Projects are deeper and more meaningful, because communication and collaboration are effortless.

Sallie's role entails providing support and professional development to the teachers and students of BRVGS while maintaining the data and information systems.  She is constantly on the search for new tools and ideas to integrate into the BRVGS curriculum.

In her free time Sallie enjoys being a competitive equestrian, snowboarding, working on the farm and hanging out with her husband, Great Dane, and Bulldog.
