Class Descriptions

Red Cross training meets the Girl Scout guidelines for first aid programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. Segments include:

  • First Aid: Participants learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies.
  • CPR: Participants learn how to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults and children and to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR.)
  • AED: Participants learn how to use automatic external defibrillators

Class Options:

Blended Learning - Combining online training with an in-person skills session (our most popular option!)

  •  Length: 3 hours of online training plus 2 hours in-person skills session          

                  Note: online training must be done individually BEFORE the skills session                        

  • Certifications: Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED

                        Good for: 2 years

  • Cost: $32

 Optional: For class without Infant certification, skill session time is cut by 30 minutes, cost is the same.  

                   

Standard In Person Classes:

  • Length: 6 hours
                    Note: class is 6.5 hours with a break for lunch

  • Certifications: Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED
                Good for: 2 years
  •  Cost: $35

  Optional: For class without Infant certification, class time is cut by 45 minutes, cost is the same.
