About This Event 

21st Annual Race sponsored by the Midwestern University Sports Medicine Club to benefit DuPage PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) for homeless individuals & families in DuPage County. A great family event for Mothers Day weekend that benefits a very worthwhile cause.

Start

 The 5K race will be held at 9am with the Little Groovers Races at 10am on Saturday,
May 08, 2010.  The race start and finish is at the Recreation & Wellness Centers on the Midwestern University Campus. Please visit the Little Groovers Race page for more information on the 1K and Childrens races.

Course

USATF certified course, starts and ends on the campus of Midwestern University in front of the Student Center.  All surfaces are asphalt or concrete sidewalks or streets. The 5K course is relatively flat and goes through beautiful area neighborhoods.

Water will be provided at the start and finish lines as well as on the course. Split times will also be called at every mile. Volunteers will be in place to guide runners through the course and police officers will be at major intersections to stop traffic. The finish line will be professionally managed.

 Race Day registration is available in the Recreation & Wellness Center:

  • Little Groovers Races: 7:30am-9:45am

Packet Pick-up

Only on Race Day and takes place at Midwestern University in teh Recreation & Wellness Building.

Age Divisions 

14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Awards  

  • Short sleeve shirts for all preregistered entries
  • Top 3 Male & Female Overall
  • Top 3 Male & Female in each Age Group
  • Prize for 1st Place Mom
  • Flowers for all Mothers
  • Medals for all Little Groover Racers 

Results

Results will be posted on race day and at http://www.cararuns.org.

We encourage all participants to park free of charge in the West Parking Structure.

Directions

From I-88 East - exit at Highland Avenue, Turn RIGHT on Highland Avenue, Turn LEFT on 31st Street, Go 3/4 mile and turn RIGHT at Midwestern University Entrance and follow the signs. 

From I-88 West - exit at Highland Avenue, Turn LEFT on Highland Avenue, Turn LEFT on 31st Street, Go 3/4 mile and turn RIGHT at Midwestern University Entrance and follow the signs.

Strollers, Rain, and Everything Else

All races will be held rain or shine.  No dogs, bikes, or roller skates are allowed on the course.  Participants with baby strollers must start the race behind the other runners.
