Contra Dances

GR contra dances continue on the 1st Friday

See the calendar on the bottom of the Home web page. https://sites.google.com/site/grfolkarts/

Contra dance, Friday June 2, 2017, at Saint Adalbert's Aid Society Hall, 701 5th St NW, Grand Rapids. Beginners instruction at 7 pm.  Open mic hosted by Karin and Thom.

We book the venue for first Friday contra dances to continue through the summer, July 7 & August 4

We will not have one on Labor Day weekend. But that is when we all go to Ann Arbor to dance in the streets. Annual Dancing in the Streets, day before Labor Day, Ann Arbor

October 6-8 is Pulaski Days, when all the Polish halls are already jumping. So we will try to find an alternate venue for October 6.

Volunteers may play music, call, or join the dance.
Folks from 6-92 may twirl and swing to the great music.

It is all about dancing and learning; this an opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people. There will be new callers, new dances, new musicians and fun for all. No partner required.

It is traditional to change partners after every dance set. And anyone may ask anyone else to dance.
