Comparison between Hasbro's 12" Talking Indiana Jones figure (nude) and the clothed BBi figure:
I am very pleased with Hasbro's new 12" Talking Indiana Jones figure. Here is a mini review:
Clothing
The Leather Jacket is very well made. It is fake leather and has a leather-like texture. It is not too bulky and the range of motion is minimally inhibited by it.
The shirt is a bit of a let down. It has one button near the belly button and the other buttons and button holes are printed on.
The pants are decent - they resemble corduroy.
Fedora
Indiana's trademark Fedora is faithfully reproduced here. It is vinyl or rubber and very flexible, but it retains its shape perfectly.
Boots
The boots are surprisingly well done considering Hasbro manufactured them. They have details for the stitching and laces with what looks like real eyelets. They are flexible enough so that some foot movement is possible, but they are still sturdy enough to allow the figure to stand on its own.
Belt/holster
The belt and holster are vinyl with a plug instead of a functional belt buckle. This is common for Hasbro and it works decently for this figure.
The holster is also vinyl and has a leather texture to it. The strap wraps around the holster and fastens to the back of it with a plug. The holster also attaches to the belt with a plug.
The whip on the belt is molded in a "wrapped" position and is attached to the belt via a separate loop that attaches to the belt.
Gun/Whip/Idol
The Gun is a solid plastic revolver. It is scaled pretty accurately (as far as I can tell). At the very least it does not suffer from Hasbro's dreaded "Super-sized gun" syndrome.
The whip made from some sort of ultra-flexible material. It is stretchy and feels almost like those sticky-hands from the 25-cent machines, except not sticky. It has a loop on the end that can wrap around Indy's wrist, but he is also capable of holding the whip without the loop.
The Fertility Idol is a nice piece. It is solid gold-colored plastic.
