I have been working around 20 years in the field of geoinformatics applied to environmental monitoring (radioactivity, air quality, biodiversity). I am currently leading the activities dealing with global biodiversity conservation and development at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and managing a wonderful team developing mainly web based services for assessing, monitoring and forecasting biodiversity at the global scale (see http://dopa.jrc.ec.europa.eu/). All my efforts are focusing on better and free information for improved decision-making. You will also find me on LinkedIn and I started more recently to become active on Twitter at @GregoireDubois

In my spare time, I like to travel and carry around a ridiculous amount of photographic equipment for nature and wildlife photography.
