Background & History

Background:

Historically, ice skating was a popular winter activity in Greendale.  In Greendale’s early years, there was a rink at Brinkman Field (current home of the GHS Varsity baseball field) and at tennis courts on the corner of Schoolway and Broad Street (see pictures below).  In later years, Scout Lake Park was available for skating.  However, due to weather conditions, and the difficulty and cost associated with maintenance of an ice rink on a natural body of water, Scout Lake is no longer consistently feasible.
Similar to the use of any School District park, the Greendale Ice Rink will be free.
