We offer lessons year round

  • We have weekly riding lessons, for adults and children, in a group or privately, for exercise or for competition.
  • Lessons are mostly in the evening or on weekends, but we also make arrangements during the days.
  • Below are samples of our riding programs.
  • For the costs, please read the summary on the Program Rates page
  • For current groups and availabilities  (and special events), please browse our Activity Calendar or contact us.

Safety First!

  • Riders must wear suitable footwear with a closed toe and a slight heel (No runners)
  • Anyone helping children in a barn or riding must wear footwear with a closed toe (No sandals).

Safety First

  • Parent must participate the full hour - with one hand on the horse, one hand on the child.
  • To take a picture, please ask for help
  • Parent must wear suitable footwear with closed toes.

Recreational Riding

Equitation involves many styles of riding: dressage, flat equitation, hunter equitation, and jumper.  Here at Greenbelt, you have the opportunity to develop skills in any of these styles in a non-competitive environment, at your own pace and for your own enjoyment.

Most of our lessons are given throughout the week in a group format with 4-7 students, giving plenty of individual attention throughout the course of the lessons.

Private lessons are also available

Competitive Riding Lessons

For those riders with a competitive streak, we also offer a special show training program to prepare students for the realities of the show ring, from local schooling shows up to nationally recognized events. Spots in this program are limited and subject to trainer approval and evaluation of riding skills.
