Applying as a Summer Camp Workers

We welcome applications from those 14+ years to work in the summer camp, either as barn staff or as a camp helper. Some positions are paid while others are volunteers - volunteers are paid with free riding time every day after camp hours.
  • Barn staff: Mucking stalls, sweeping barns, help in tacking up horses (for young and beginner camps), landscape work (weeding, watering) and if appropriate, help in turning in and out of the horses
  • Camper Helper: Constant supervision of campers, horse & rider safety, helping in tacking up horses, walking of beginner riders (requires jogging beside the horse), lunch hour supervision, recreational activities.
While we certainly need people with horse experience, we also accept people with no horse experience but who love children. These people will be used to manage the recreation time, and will be introduced to horse safety in time.

Working with horses is a physically demanding occupation - we work in sun, rain, through the heat of the day, and the work is not done until the horses are taken care of.  The most successful workers are not necessarily those with tons of horse experience - they are hard workers, team players, cheerful and physically fit.

Please fill in the form appropriate to the position that you are interested in. We will contact you. As well, we will be having volunteer training weekends in May and in the week before camp begins.

Tip: Summer Camp Volunteers (and Staff) will need Police Record Checks (PRCs) for working with the Vulnerable Sector.  Please start your application soon so that it is ready for summer. We will email you a letter confirming your role as a volunteer with us once you have registered.
