Cal State LA Engineering

Civil Engineering professor, Crist Khachikian had the students' attention as he explained one of the current experiments taking place in the lab regarding fuel efficiency.

The high school students would be acting as team leaders for 50 middle school students who would be attending the following week for National Lab Day.

The college student leading the lab investigation and changing attitudes about who goes into engineering.

The results from the lab had to be calculated and logged on the computer.

Geometry, chemistry, and algebra, suddenly make
sense in this context!

The diagram above helped explain what was happening in the machine created in the lab.

Students watch as the fuel burned leaves emission stains
on the fabric pads.
