Koda Bird

posted Nov 4, 2018, 3:14 PM by Tracy Honstain   [ updated Nov 4, 2018, 3:15 PM ]

Koda is a sweet energetic little boy, who needs to find a foster family to adopt him.

Great Lakes Bully Brigade found a frisbee is his outside toy of choice,
he hasn’t caught one in the air yet but we know it’s only a matter of time and a good throw.

Koda is good with other dogs and kids.

Salem

Meet Salem 🐾
This beautiful little 7 month old pitty was part of an abuse/neglect case. When we picked up Simon from Friends of the River Rouge Animal Shelter we fell in love with her gentle & sweet demeanor and of course that gorgeous face 😍. Luckily her case went to court quickly and she was surrendered to the shelter so we could pick her up! Knowing the shelter is overflowing I went and got her the next day. She is adjusting well and getting to know what simple things like bones and comfy blankets are. She will be available for adoption soon! ❤️🐾❤️

Juliet

Welcome Juliet to the GLBB family ❤️

Juliet (Juju Bee) gives the best cuddles. She is like a little shadow following us around everywhere. She even went to run errands with us today and got treats at the bank for being such a good girl.

This beautiful 5 month old baby was being sold on Facebook for $25 😩. She was clearly frightened and skinny in the photos and we just couldn’t take the chance that she ended up in the wrong hands!

She was very very excited to see us and as you can see immediately felt a sense of relief and passed out in the car on the way to the vet as if she hadn’t slept in days. She was underweight and itchy. She is relaxing at her foster home where she will get a bath and lots of cuddles. ❤️🐾❤️

Simon is looking for a foster or foster to adopt home. He is only about 10 months old. Plays well with others and loves to snuggle. If you can give this boy a place to learn how to just be a dog or interested in adopting him please contact us via messenger or fill out the online application.

Harlequinn/Harley

***Meet Harley***
Harley is the second dog we took in from the former Detroit/NOLA rescue.
Harley is underweight, had fleas, her nails were overgrown to the point it was painful for her to walk, her white fur was stained
yellow from sitting in her own excrement and she has extreme “happy tail”.

We are happy to report no heartworm!
She has had a bath, nail trim, started vaccines at the vet and getting treatment for her tail.

Harley has been thru so much in her short little life.
Some may remember when she was a puppy she was stabbed 9 times just for having an accident in the house! She survived like the warrior she is and she will survive this. She deserves so much more and we promise to give her all that and more.

❤️ Meet Dublin ❤️

Dublin is a beautiful Bulldog/Staffie mix. She came to us pregnant and has raised her 9 babies.
All but Nora have found their forever homes so now it’s Dublin’s turn. Dubs is an energetic fun loving girl that loves to get her zooming out before cuddling.  She thinks belly rubs are the best. Dublin likes other big dogs but is not a fan of cats. She is available for foster or adopt. 🐾

Dublin was DNA tested check out her results

Dottie Hope

We were contacted by a friend who was looking for help with this sweet girl. A friend of hers found her living alone in a house in Detroit after the “owners” moved out TWO WEEKS ago! They packed their stuff, walked away and left her there to fend for herself 😢. She is definitely skinny but so far otherwise in good health.

She got a check up and vaccines today and we will know her heartworm test results in a couple days, please send her good vibes for a negative result.

If interested in helping with her vet bill please use our donate button for PayPal or Call Dix Animal Hospital directly and let them know it’s for Great Lakes Bully Brigade. Thanks in advance 😘

**Dottie Hope Update**
I’m loving life at my fosters moms. I love to be outside and lay on the grass. I play well with my foster brother and sister and looking for a family of my very own. I’m just a couple years old and didn’t have the best start to life. I was found in a house in Detroit when a group of really nice people came to board up the house. Apparently my family moved out and left me behind 💔. I have now completed my heartworm treatment and just waiting for doc to give me the ok for surgery so I can be spayed. Do you think I could be the fur baby for you? 🙏

Pumpkin Spice

                                                                                                                                           ***Medical/Foster to Adopt****
Pumpkin Spice was found as a stray and she brought her Rescuer to the abandoned house she was living with the puppies.
They went to Detroit animal care and control (DACC) for stray hold and we were then able to pick them up. She was found by Erin a friend/vet tech at GLBB's vet. The vet called GLBB right away to see if we had room.

Pumpkin is ready to start looking for her forever (or foster). She has come so far since being found in an abandoned house in Detroit with her 8 three week old babies back in early October. She is utd, spayed and microchipped. She recently finished heartworm treatment, woo hoo! Pumpkin would prefer to be an only dog and allowed on the couch is a must 😂.

She is crate trained and potty trained too. Pumpkin still has some balance issues, unfortunately permanent damage from a severe double ear infection when rescued but that doesn’t stop her from being a grade A snuggle butt. If you could be Pumpkins forever message us or fill out our adoption/foster application
❤️

***UPDATE***

This morning we went to Dogwood veterinary to follow up on her CT results and to see what our next step is for her. First the good news: CT scan was clear so one small victory! That means her ears are completely healed and the suspicion they are causing her balance issues is not correct. The neurologist feels pretty confident it is most like a brain related issue. So now we wait on a genetic test to see if she has a mutated gene called MDR1. We are also starting a new medication to help with her dizziness. Once we get those results we will know what our next step is. Most likely a spinal tap 😩. Thank you to all who have donated, shared and/or sent prayers and asked how she’s doing. We can’t thank you enough for all the love and support you have shown Pumpkin. Her future care will be quite costly (spinal tap estimate alone: $300-$600).

Help us raise money for Pumpkin, hit the donate button!!

If you wish to make Pumpkin Spice part of your family, please fill out the adoption application.
