As a fourth grade team, we are learning about all sorts of things that pertain to our local environment. We work together to learn through our BIG lesson, Salmon In the Classroom, and curricular pieces.

We leave our Ralya classroom for an entire week, and make Harris Nature Center our classroom for the week. Check out the slideshow to see some examples of our learning.

Salmon In the Classroom

As a school we were lucky enough to obtain a permit from the Michigan DNR to get 200 salmon eggs to study the life cycle of salmon.

We watched as the salmon developed from egg to fry, culminating with a release in the Red Cedar River.  Here is a video of our work.
