Activities in the Village

There a host of activities in the village for residents to join. In addition to the football and cricket teams, there is a crown green bowls club and a tennis club, all of which welcome observers as well as players.

For those interested in the arts there is an annual pantomime and a local cinema club. The Silver Band is very active and holds concerts on a regular basis. The House hosts a whist drive alternate weeks which is well supported by the village. Bingo can be played in the reading room.

The church and two chapels are active with Womens Fellowship meetings and a bible study group.

The Monday Club meets in the Village Hall as does Derby and Joan. There are tea dances in the Village Hall. In addition the Granby House have an outing each month to a place of interest.

If gardening is of interest the horticultural society hosts an annual show which is well supported and outings to gardens of interest are arranged. 

 Youlgrave's free community magazine, The Bugle, is delivered monthly to every household in the village, including a large print copy to the residents at Granby House.
