New to the Digressions page (I seem to be making a lot of additions there lately) is a small feature on the annual Haiku Invitational contest sponsored by the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. I’ve been a judge for four years, and a consultant on the contest, website, and festival since the festival started in 2006. What I’ve just added is images of all the placards that have featured winning Haiku Invitational poems on the theme of cherry blossoms. These beautiful placards have appeared on Vancouver buses and SkyTrains every spring since the festival started. Enjoy!
