Our Leadership

Our Priest-in-Charge is the Rev. Lynda Carter. Pastor Lynda received a Master of Divinity degree from Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, in 2014.  She served her ministry internship at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wyandotte,under The Reverend George Davinich, Priest-in-Charge and Rector of Grace Episcopal Church - Southgate, and was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in December 2014.  Pastor Lynda continued her relationship with St. Stephen's while she served as Transitional Deacon.  On June 13, 2015, she was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests, at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit.  Prior to being called as Priest-in-Charge at Grace – Southgate in August 2015, Pastor Lynda began leading the very successful "Evening Prayer and Holy Eucharist  in the Park" program, held weekly in Bishop Park, along the Detroit River in Wyandotte, and continues to share that leadership each summer.  Prayer in the Park is open to anyone who would like to worship with like-minded folks.

Having completed her undergraduate studies, with a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University, Pastor Lynda had been employed by the Henry Ford Health System, where she worked as a Microbiologist and Infection Prevention Specialist for thirty-three years at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton.  She completed her career at Henry Ford Hospital Main Campus, retiring seven years later having served as the health system’s Environmental Safety Officer.

Deacon Ken was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit on June 14, 2014, and assigned by Bishop Wendell N. Gibbs, Jr. to Grace Episcopal Church. 

Deacon Ken assists the Pastor at Sunday services, and leads the 8 am Morning Prayer services twice a month.  He also leads a 2 pm  prayer service with Holy Eucharist for residents at the American House in Southgate.  During the summer months, Deacon Ken assists with the "Prayer  in the Park" program, held in Bishop Park, on the river in Wyandotte.  He serves Grace – Southgate bringing communion and visiting with the hospitalized or congregants confined to home, and works with others with special needs.  Deacon Ken also leads and participates in many special events, such as Movie Night and fellowship, Lenten studies, special dinners, and many community service programs.

Deacon Ken and his wife Joan, reside in Wyandotte.
