Zero Tolerance Policy on Violence or Misconduct

The mission of Guerrilla Queer Bar (GQB) is to foster and create safe spaces of nightlife for LGBTQ people in communities where we are otherwise underrepresented or rarely visible.

We fully understand that the establishment of GQB in San Diego is a bit of a social experiment. Our hope is that intermingling of the LGBTQ community with the larger non-LGBTQ community may bear mutual understanding and acceptance about our differences and our commonalities, but also may provoke unintended consequences leading to violence, miscommunication or misconduct.

We are committed to employing preventative measures that help ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons by providing the “host” establishment reasonable notice of our event so that they may make appropriate staffing decisions to prepare for the evening.

Your trusty organizers will also report safety concerns to the appropriate authorities immediately throughout the evening, and will work with management to address any possible hostile situations that may arise.

We ask that all GQB patrons present positive examples of the LGBTQ community while attending our event(s). By all means, dress in drag, wear your stilettos, sport those ass-hugging jeans, and apply that eyeliner liberally, BUT PLEASE DO NOT:

    1. Hit on straight patrons excessively
    2. Pick fights with other patrons, LGBTQ or otherwise
    3. Respond to epithets and/or other inappropriate remarks
    4. Take matters “into your own hands”
    5. Binge drink
