Magnetic Resonance Imaging - a Quality Perspective
This presentation, by consultant clinical scientist Dr Martin Graves, will provide an overview of the basic principles and main clinical applications of Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with particular emphasis on the system hardware. The important aspects of initial acceptance testing and on-going quality control will also be discussed.

without the use of ionising X-ray radiation. An MRI “scanner” comprises a range
of technologies from superconducting magnets, mega-watt magnetic field
gradient amplifiers, and a high power radiofrequency (RF) transmission system
together with high sensitivity multi-channel RF receiver systems.
