Welcome to my page!
My research interests encompass the area of network optimization. I use mathematical models to characterize the limits of communication networks and devise methodologies and algorithms to achieve these limits in practical systems.
I am interested in emerging networking paradigms including Content-Centric Networking, Caching Networks, Software-Defined Networks and Virtualized Infrastructures. My contributions include Network Coding techniques for Wireless, Dynamic Control of Mobile Networks and Optimization in Datacenters.
Since Sep. 2012, I am a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT, Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS). I collaborate with Prof. Eytan Modiano on dynamic network control. From June 2008, I am affiliated with "The Center of Research and Technology Hellas - Informatics & Telematics Institute" CERTH-ITI, Greece, working with Prof. Leandros Tassiulas. I also taught in the University of Thessaly, school of Computer Science and Networks as an adjunct lecturer for the period 2009-2011. Previously I spent one year in VTT, Finland, working on the team of Prof. Norros in an ERCIM postdoc fellowship. I received my diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2002) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and my PhD degree in Wireless Networks (2006) from ECE dept. University of Patras, both in Greece. Two of my papers won the best paper award, GLOBECOM 07' and IFIP Wireless Days 09'. I serve as a TPC member in INFOCOM, WiOPT, and Mobihoc.
