THE INSTITUTE:

This institution was established in the year of 1969 in the city of LION – Junagadh.
The city is located near to the famous Lion sanctuary – SASAN.
One of the most famous Lord SHIVA temples i.e. SOMNATH temple is also very near to this city.
This city has a very long history and possesses great historical monuments.

Government Ayurved College, Junagadh consists of Ayurved Hospital, Botanical Garden (Raivatak Vanaushadhi Udhyaan), Boy's Hostel, Girl's Hostel, Central Library, Yashodhar Teaching Pharmacy, Seminar Hall, Wellness Centre, Anatomy Dissection Hall etc.

Hospital is situated at current address since its establishment.
The campus is spread in 9 acres of land and college building is built in 5000 sq.mt., boys and girls hostel is built in 2040 sq.mt. each, Herbal garden is spread in 6070 sq.mt. and hospital is built in 2561 sq.mt. Yashodhar Teaching Pharmacy is built in 2198 sq.mt. Principal quarter and RMO quarter is also located in the campus.

Institute has intake capacity of 75 (including EWS). In the year of 2000-01 the present college building was constructed. The college has been established, managed and fully financed directly by the Government of Gujarat and by the department of AYUSH, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Gandhinagar.
