Google Earth

Google Earth is a great application to use with students. Google Earth (GE) allows students to travel not only all over the earth to learn about different geographic locations, but also travel into the stars! GE is also used to create a Google LitTrip, in which the path or location of a character in a book moves from place to place (whether in a city or across the globe). Google Lit trips can be used at various grade levels and genres of books.

Here are some resources for Google Earth:

Download Google Earth and take a tour of the program.

Explore the KML Gallery and see tours other people have created.
