GMC Special Events


Each fall the Gonzaga faculty and staff is treated to a lovely 'welcome back' luncheon served in the Lower Commons.

 





A special evening for freshmen, new students, and their parents!  The New Families Welcome Picnic is  a great opportunity to meet classmates and their parents, talk to coaches, moderators and upper classmen about sports teams and clubs.

 



GMC and Eagles Wings enjoy Mass and Continental Breakfast to celebrate the holiday season. Collection at Mass and canned food collection benefit the McKenna Center.






GMC members solicit donations, sell ads for program, make decorations, help address invitations, or work that evening as a check-in or bid entry person, cashier or spotter.




A beloved GMC Spring tradition. Mothers and sons gather in the Great Church of St. Aloysius, followed by a delicious breakfast expertly served by Gonzaga Dads.





The Gonzaga Student Photo Contest is held each spring under the direction of the Fine Arts Department and supported by the GMC. Students submit entries in several categories and are awarded prized based on originality, composition, and artistic value.






Beautiful food from countries all over the world is sold to students at this wildly popular event. Gonzaga will provide a variety of breads, crepes and all the toppings, and utensils and paper products. You and your sons do the cooking!





GMC sponsored raffle for three $1,000 prizes. The drawings for the Tuition Raffle are held at the May joint meeting of the Gonzaga Mothers Club and Fathers Club.





The GMC sends the Gonzaga Faculty and Staff off in style with a casual, themed luncheon served in the Lower Commons.





Each year Gonzaga and Georgetown Visitation plan social gatherings and service projects together, including a Fall Picnic at Visi, the 'gleaning of the fields', and a day trip to Kings Dominion after spring semester ends. The GMC facilitates the organization of events and activities between the schools.





Members of the GMC help set up, decorate and clean up a beautiful reception for families of graduating seniors after Baccalaureate Mass.





A wonderful opportunity for mothers of incoming students to get acquainted, meet the faculty and staff, and learn about athletics, clubs, and activities available to Gonzaga families.




GMC Hospitality & Standing Committees



Bake sales are held once a week and are generally scheduled on Wednesdays. Any sports team, club, or organization within the school may schedule a bake sale. Bake sales are coordinated through the GMC Bake Sale Chair.



 

Closet (all year) Maintain the supplies in the GMC Closet.  Work with event chairs to make sure that supplies needed are in stock.





GMC volunteers solicit and collect desserts to be served in the cafeteria for parents attending Back to School Night to enjoy. They also participate in setting up and cleaning the cafeteria after the event.






The GMC provides dinner in the JDR before conferences begin and solicit and collect snacks
for teachers and parents to enjoy in between conferences. Gonzaga schedules Parent Teacher Conferences during the week that grades are distributed in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grading periods.






Host small gatherings of incoming freshmen and transfer students at home during the months of August, September, and October of each school year.







GMC volunteers send in sweet or salty snacks or sandwiches to fortify Junior & Senior parents as they learn from Gonzaga's College Counselors about the college search and application process. (4 meetings during the year – two in the fall and two in the spring).






Faculty and staff are invited to come together in the cafeteria for a home-cooked breakfast prepared by the faculty treats crew on the first Friday of every month.  Each month has a different theme, but our goal is always the same:  to provide a festive repast for our hardworking and very appreciative staff.
 

 

A cooperative effort between the GMC and Gonzaga students to honor mothers at JB Johnson Nursing Home on their special day!







The GMC Senior Liaison communicates important information about Senior Class activities throughout the year.
 



 
GMC Service

The Gonzaga Mothers Club provides daily meals between November and April for the "Hypothermia Center", except on Wednesdays when a community meal (Peacemeal) is served to the men.





Each Summer and early fall, GMC volunteers contact new families to welcome them to the Gonzaga Community.







The Gonzaga Mothers Club provides support to families in times of illness, crisis, or bereavement. Family Support arranges meals, transportation, and other assistance as needed throughout the year.





The GMC supports our grounded eagles by sending each one a care package. Coaches, Teachers, and Gonzaga families--please click on the icon to the left to let us know about a grounded eagle.






The Gonzaga Mothers Club helps to coordinate meals, rides, and provides other support in service of Campus Ministry during the weekend of the Freshman Retreat.
