Music Classes‎ > ‎

Fifth Grade

We begin the year with exploring the textbook series.  I choose interesting songs with various musical concepts that get us singing and thinking about the symbolic representation of music.  We quickly get into our concert music study.  Our concerts have been in November and that is the plan for the 2013-2014 school year.  Finally we sing seasonal and holiday music to finish out the first semester.

In fourth and fifth grade I teach the same concepts but use different songs and activities.  I feel this website will hold three main resources for your 5th grader:  1) rhythmic or tonal patterns to practice 2) written work examples to study and then be able to write out  3) recorder songs to practice.

It is a goal to sing songs from Annie.

I would suggest going to the subpage to discover:  patterns, written work, and recorder songs.
