I'm Kyungmin "Gerald" Kim, a Ph.D. in Physics and a senior researcher of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute in Daejeon, Korea.
My research interests are mostly about astrophysical compact objects such as neutron star, black hole, and the phenomena related to them.
In specific, I'm interested in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which is known as the most brightest event in our Universe, in point of view of both observation and its interior nature. Also I'm interested in identification of gravitational-wave (GW) signals in data taken from ground-based GW detectors such as Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) in the US and Virgo in Italy.
As a technical interest, I've been working on data analysis with machine learning algorithms.
