It’s not long been forgotten how the Baltimore Ravens shockingly defeated the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game 2013. Who can forget the miraculous breath-taking 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones to the game as Baltimore stole the game from the Broncos.
Shocking in a sense that the Broncos were filled with high expectations because of their defense and the presence of quarterback Peyton Manning. Of course, the Broncos have to forget that game to start another campaign in which the roster never decline at all. Denver is up for revenge in that big nightmare that the team experienced.
Denver Broncos added firepower in the offense by landing former Patriots receiver Wes Welker. In the name of offensive attacks, Welker can be reliable in the offense as one of the targets of Manning. In the years Welker played with Brady, he became the best receiver in the NFL in terms of number of catches and yards. Welker increase the chances of the Broncos to move the chains efficiently.
In the preseason games, the Broncos finished with 2-2record. Broncos defeated SF 49ers 10-6 and St Louis Rams 27-26 while losing to the Seattle Seahawks 40-10 and Arizona Cardinals 32-24.
Denver will not be denied to rank in the preseason as 4th overall in offense accumulating 114.5 in rushing and 283.4 in passing offense. It is extremely important to note that the Broncos ranked fifth in the passing game.
Demaryius Thomas, Erick Decker, Andre Caldwell, Trendon Holliday and Welker will be the widereceivers to play with Manning. Surely, Manning will have great corps of receivers that can drive his stats further in this 2013 campaign.
The Broncos are 2nd overall in defense in the preseason, yielding 91.1 yards in rushing and 199.6 yards in passing. Denver gives emphasis in defense to have yet another successful season.
The defending super bowl champions Baltimore Ravens maintain Flacco but many of the prominent players are gone. Their spiritual leader Ray Lewis is retired and offensive juggernaut Anquan Boldin was shipped to the 49ers.
Many believes that the Ravens will have difficulties to get back to the Super Bowl but others think that as long as Flacco is present, then they will flourish. Flacco will have Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, LaQuan Williams, Brandon Stokley, Aaron Mellette, and Marlon Brown as the receivers.
Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce will alternately play at the runningback position. Absolutely, the running game of the Ravens must exist to derail the vaunted offense of the Broncos.
In the preseason, Baltimore finished 2-2 record. Ravens overpowered Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-16 and Atlanta Falcons 27-23 while losing to Carolina Panthers 34-27 and St Louis Rams 24-21.
Baltimore was 16th overall in offense in the preseason accumulating 118.8 yards in rushing and 233.7 yards in passing. Defensively, the Ravens are 17th yielding 122.8 yards in rushing and 228.1 in passing.
