Sluice Box

Raw gold recovery systems will utilize a sluice box.

Screens and riffles collect the gold as water and earth passes through the sluice box. An absorbent mat is usually placed at the bottom of the sluice box. This will capture the fine loose gold particles. Big gold nuggets are rare to find. Most of the gold extracted will be small loose flakes.
Various techniques are used in different sluice boxes. Every miner has their favorite setup of screens and riffles to capture the gold. Most claims will try to work the ground to bedrock.

Water flow adjustment, angle of riffles, plus slope of sluice box is set to miners preference.
