Every second Saturday of the month, Golden Gardens Park's forest stewards, Rhonda and Alessandra, lead work parties for volunteers to contribute in the restoration and maintenance of one of Seattle's most beloved parks. These work parties are known as Golden Gardens Reforestation and Trails (GGREAT) events. Many know of the Golden Gardens beach front, but a quick glance uphill will show you an entire slope covered in forest. In order to maintain this beautiful landscape, however, we need your help!
The forest must be maintained to remove invasive plant species, ensure the proliferation of native trees, shrubs and groundcover and prevent disruption to plant and forest life from other animals and persons who visit the park. This website is designed to invite entire Seattle communities to learn more about the park.
Visit our calendar to find out when you can join us next! Many events are underway at Golden Gardens -- be a part of this fantastic effort to keep our park and forests alive.
Forestry efforts at Golden Gardens are sponsored by the Green Seattle Partnership.
