Battery Status's Supported Devices List

This is a list of devices that I've been requested to support in Battery Status. They are sorted by brand. If you'd like to concur with someone (I'm more likely to support a more popular device than one only one person wants,) or if you'd like me to add a new device to the list, just email me.

You can reach me at marks.t@husky.neu.edu.

Note: To the best of my knowledge, iOS devices can not be supported. Apple offers no built in way for any app, besides iTunes (and even then, only when it's connected by USB), to get any information from an iOS device. While I could make an iOS app that would talk to Battery Status running on nearby Macs, this would be severely limited by the fact that Apple has strict rules for what iOS apps are allowed to do while they're not on screen. The rules state that apps are not allowed to maintain an internet connection, except for sending and receiving audio (IE, Pandora, Spotify, or Skype,) for more than ten minutes after going into the background. If in the future Apple loosens up on the iOS background app rules, I will revisit the idea of having Battery Status provide information about nearby iOS devices.

Update (8/7/2013): I am investigating changes in the iOS 7 SDK that may allow Battery Status to work on iOS. I have to confess, however, that I don't feel very motivated to work on this on account of how much fewer downloads I've had in recent months.

Kensington
Expert Wireless Trackball - Requested on 3/21/2012.
 - Update (8/12/2012): I was looking through my old emails and came across this request, so I've just added it to the list and let the person know I haven't forgotten about them.

LMP
Bluetooth Keypad - Requested on 10/8/2012. Requested a second time on 4/1/2013.

Logitech
Performance MX - Supported. Was requested by nearly 40 different customers.
 - Update (8/8/2012): I have now bought one so I can figure out how it works... as I recall, it took me about 4 hours of digging through files to figure out how the Apple mice and such shared their battery information. This looks a bit more complicated, but I think I should have Battery Status recognizing it by the end of the week.
 - Update 2 (8/11/2012): I have a new beta, 1.3.1 beta 2, which adds in support for the Performance MX. It hasn't been tested very much yet, but it seems promising. If you want it now, send me an email; otherwise I expect this to go live on the App Store within 2 weeks.
 - Update 3 (8/16/2012): Version 1.3.1 was fast tracked and is now live. It adds support for the Logitech Performance MX, making it the first non-Apple product officially supported by Battery Status!
