Dave Stevens

The creator of the Rocketeer and the one responsible for the resurgence of interest in Bettie Page since the early 1980s  died from lukemia.  Dave was 52, a brilliantly skilled artist and a really nice guy, from all accounts.

Jack Moore's classic strip is now online!

I've heard from a fellow by the name of Charles Brubaker who has some of his own Kelly & Duke strips online.  You can find them at his blog here, here and here(Be sure to peek at his own strip once you're there, too!)

If anyone else has any information regarding Jack Moore or Kelly and Duke (especially a source of additional strips), please contact me via zylla2001@yahoo.com

Thank you.

I Did It In Public!

Heh heh heh!  The manager at the Starbucks here in Point Richmond was having some frustrating "fun" with the corporate office and the cops (a woman's purse had been stolen), and as he was making my latte said "Jesus Christ!"

            I said "Yes?"

Got a laugh from the crew and another customer.

What can I say?  I have fun.

Kelly & Duke by Jack Moore - I assume the copyright is still maintained by Universal Press Syndicate - but maybe it's lapsed.

That's me on the left.  Ugh, never really got any better, did it?  I was a happy kid, anyway!  Next to me is my neighbor and best friend at the time, Jon Brechtelsbauer.  (Hope I spelled his name right.)
