FROM: THE MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY,   March 2012,  GODSTONE TENNIS CLUB     The Green, Godstone, Surrey, RH9 8DY

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The 2012/13 season officially starts on Monday 2nd April. I look forward to seeing you all back at the club this year.

Fees are due on 1 May 2012. Please send cheques (payable to Godstone LTC) together with the remittance slip attached, to the treasurer, Mike Gorge, 52 Grovehill Road, Redhill, RH1 6DB.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Members agreed at the AGM to freeze subscriptions for this new year. They are therefore as follows:

Full Member £120

Senior Member (65+) £110

Associate Member £90

Weekday Member £80

New Member £70

Junior Member £30 (£15 for each additional sibling)

There is a Family Discount of 20% available for families where two adults and at least 1 child join. This discount is not applicable for anyone joining as a New Member.

With the exception of Weekday Members, categories of membership are determined by age and ability, not how often you choose to play, and are explained below:

Full Members have priority to play at any time as well as club sessions, with the exception of Junior Nights on Wednesdays and Associate Nights on Fridays.

Associate Members are players not yet up to full member standard, but who wish to gain experience and/or receive coaching. Associates have priority on the courts on Friday evenings, and shared use of the courts during non-club times.

A New Member joining for their first year will pay only £70.00 and will have the same privileges as an Associate Member. If this new member feels that their standard of play meets the Full Member standard, then they should speak to a committee member. The option may then be for the member to become a Full Member but still at the rate of £70.00 for the first year.

A Weekday Member has shared use of the courts, but restricted to 9:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

OTHER FEES

Adult Visitors £3.50 per visit (maximum 6 visits a year)

Junior Visitors £1.00 per visit (maximum 6 visits a year)

Match Fees £2.00 per person per match (home only)

Floodlight Tokens £1.00 per token (15 minutes)

Please note that your subscription gives you membership to the Godstone Club (located by the car park). The Club offers a bar, Sky Sports TV, snooker, pool & darts. I would encourage members to make use of this facility, as a leisurely drink after a game of tennis is a great way to get to know one another.

Ensure that the ladies room is locked and the key returned to the pavilion. Return crockery etc to locked cupboard.

Coaching for 2012

posted Oct 12, 2009, 5:34 PM by Godstone TennisClub   [ updated Apr 1, 2012, 1:30 PM ]

Good news, we have appointed Graeme Livingstone of Matchpoint tennis as our coach. He is very experienced and has the backing of the LTA with the remit of encouraging more people to become involved in tennis and increase local club memberships. It is not possible to quantify the take-up until coaching starts so initially he will be running Junior sessions on Wednesday's from 18th April from 4.30 - 6.30, followed by Seniors between 7.30 - 8.30. Please do come along and support us, I feel we are very fortunate to have this opportunity as his team appear to be having a big impact in the area. The cost for Juniors is £5 per session, reduced to £3 if they join the club. Seniors will pay £6 per session, but will be required to sign up for a block of 4 sessions.

We have moved the Godstone Tennis Club web site from being hosted with Microsoft to now using Google Sites. Not all of the historic Match and Tournament site have been migrated yet, but they will follow shortly. Google Sites brings some nice features like easily managed News items, Comments and a Calendar.
