2018/2019 SCHEDULE: Oct. 1, 2018 - Mar. 4, 2019

All sessions this season are at the Maitland Recreation Centre YMCA on Monday & Wednesday evenings. Choose one or two nights. We cannot offer Power Skating this year due to reduced ice availability.

CANSkate (helmets mandatory up to Stage 6) - NEW! Free skates on loan for all CanSkaters from Edee's with registration!
Stages 1 - 2: 5:00 - 5:30 PM
Stages 3 - 6: 5:00 - 5:45 PM

Juniors: 5:55 - 7:05 PM
Seniors/Intermediate/Adult: 7:00 - 8:50

The last date to register is December 15. Email our registrar to inquire at after our registration nights if you were unable to attend. 

Payment of Fees
  • Cash, cheque, or e-transfers to
  • One postdated cheque (March 1, 2019) per family for $90 will act as your volunteer deposit which will be returned when you meet the volunteer hours criteria.
  • It is recommended children be school-aged (4+) to start CANSkate Stage 1. Refunds are only available until 30 days after a skater's first lesson for CanSkate. Skate Canada insurance and registration fees are non-refundable as is the value of any used fundraising if selectedFor more information, email
  • Fees will be pro-rated if your skater graduates to the next session during the season.

Financial Assistance/Fundraising
  • YMCA RASP information and online application (Recreation, Arts, & Sports Program)
  • The IODE, Maple Leaf Chapter - Goderich, may offer financial assistance on a case-by-case basis. Please direct inquiries privately to our Registrar, Erin Thomson, at The IODE is also a regular contributor to our club and their assistance is greatly appreciated.
  • All personal fundraising will take a different look this year. For starters, it is completely optional whether families will fundraise in order to earn back some of their registration fees. Families can choose to buy chocolates (through the club) and re-sell at a profit, or can purchase raffle tickets that can also be resold at a profit.  Further details will be given during registration nights or you can email Mark Moore ( with questions.
Volunteer Deposit

To earn back your volunteer deposit, we will ask you to do approximately 4 hours of volunteer work for the club.  There are several activities you can get involved in to do this:

  • Door monitoring at skating sessions
  • Children's tent work at the Transfigured town festival
  • Santa Claus parade float preparation
  • Carnival - decorating, supervising, or costuming
  • Club Photography
  • And more…
