INTRODUCTION

Student teaching is an integral part of coursework and is significant in that it affords the opportunity for student teachers to apply knowledge, skills, and dispositions learned from prior coursework. It is the final course and culminating experience in George Mason University's state-approved teacher education program providing extended practice under the guidance of experienced professionals from within the university and local schools. The purpose of this manual is to describe the policies and procedures as they apply to the Student Teacher (ST), the Mentor Teacher (MT), and the University Supervisor (US).
