Kindergarten is a very exciting step in your student's education and GMSPA is very pleased to be sharing these first school moments with you through our Road To Kindergarten Program! The program was created in 2011 by Kristine Smith, a Mitchell mom and past President of our Parent's Association.

The transition to Kindergarten is an important time in a child's life and research shows it influences a child's later school career. It is our goal to assist your family with a positive start by connecting you in positive and supportive ways with other families getting ready for kindergarten. We hope to accomplish this with a sense of community while addressing any questions or concerns you may have.

You will see that we have planned activities for you and/or your student beginning in May and continuing through September. Activities are completely voluntary, you may participate in all activities or one activity. Please mark your calendars now, we are ready to spend some super fantastic Mitchell time with you!

We are especially excited for the Kindergarten Kickoff, our finale event! You can check the website beginning in April and continuing through Summer for updates about events and all information Kindergarten related. We've covered everything from ideas to pack for snack to suggestions to for getting through "first day jitters".

We know we can continue to grow and make improvements and look forward to hearing your ideas. After all this is for you and your family! We feel these events contribute to a sense of community and school pride that will last throughout yours and your child's time at Mitchell!
