Nikon F2

Back in the '70s a Nikon F or F2 was a camera to aspire to, but the cost was way beyond what I could afford. Many decades later I found this on a camara shop website for about £99, in clean condition and with the much-desired plain prism.

It wasn't my first Nikon, but it is probably the nicest.  It still has a precise, quality feel, and fitted with a contemporary Nikkor lens it leaves little to be desired as a working camera nowadays.

These photographs were taken with a 50mm f1.4 Nikkor-S, 28mm f3.5 Nikkor-HC and a 24mm f2.8 Nikkor-NC on Fuji 400 black and white film.
