Global warming - fact or fiction?

There is no doubt that the average temperature of the Earth has increased over the last 100 years or so. This fact is not in dispute.

The interesting questions are:

  • How much have temperatures increased?
  • Have measured temperature increases been influenced by poor siting of weather stations?
  • Have measured temperatures been "adjusted" upwards to increase apparent warming?
  • Are current temperatures, or the rate of increase, unusual?
  • Is the increase of temperature in any way related to man-made emission of carbon dioxide?

What does the IPCC say?

"Warming of the climate system is unequivocal".

This completely vacuous statement was made into headline news by broadcasters when it was released by the UN IPCC in February 2007, and was widely misquoted, even by the UN itself.
