Stratfor Confidential Emails To Be Published By The Millions

WikiLeaks reported that it is publishing over 5 million emails from between 2004 and 2011 from the intelligence company Stratfor. The emails are part of what WikiLeaks calls "The Global Intelligence Files."

Stratfor is an Austin, Texas-based geopolitical risk analysis company that has been called a "shadow CIA." Last December, Stratfor confirmed that email addresses had been stolen from the firm's database.

WikiLeaks' press release outlines what it claims to glean from the information:

The source of the emails was not disclosed, but the publication follows the hacking of the company's computer servers last December by individuals claiming to be linked to the Anonymous cyber-activist group.

Anyone who ventures into the lawless wild west of Cyberspace and the Internet isn't alone, thanks to places like Stratfor, and domestic surveillance enabled by leaders.

This is another so called “Think Tank” that is a non-profit organization which means it has a tax exempt status, this creates a problem, because the tax exemption amounts to a gift of money to these organizations at the expense of tax payers.

For every dollar which the government cannot collect on these organizations’ property, it must make up for by collecting it from citizens; thus all citizens are forced to indirectly support these organizations even those that they do not belong to and may even oppose.

These organizations now have more influence on policies and elections than at any time in USA history. This needs to change. I believe the place to start is with their tax status.

At the very least allow states to access property taxes.

Obama when asked about him...."he broke the law", yeah for exposing war crimes by the US military.

I wonder if Obama realizes that the American people are not stupid and when he comments things like this, you can tell he really makes an utter fool of himself.

"The same people own the media that own the White House that own the Congress that own the oil fields. They all work together to give a false view of the world to the American people."

How do you define the "oppressive establishment"?

I would define an "oppressive establishment" as a government that forces war on its citizens through lies and misrepresentation. One that takes from the working class and gives to the wealthy. One that focuses on its own agenda ignoring the needs of the general population. This by definition includes Bush and Obama and their relative functionaries.

Presidents and member of congress go through a process of swearing to protect the constitution. The military similarly swears to protect the constitution. There is however no process that enables any of the swearing individuals to actually take action to protect the constitution. Accordingly it is long established that the government is able to be oppressive without challenge.

Our country is divided by this president action Class Warfare, we are about 16 trillion in debt and growing larger, we are politically ideologically divided in Congress, millions remain unemployed and on food stamps, losing homes. Unrest is growing all across this nation as various groups such as 'Occupy' we now know, being influenced and trained by unions and other radical elements to foster unrest and divide. Energy wise, we are in a serious situation with our energy reserves and potentially on the verge of what could be a major world war surrounding Iran.

As far as I am concerned, Wikileaks is doing a SACRED DUTY to expose, humiliate and discredit all such Corporations that have sprung up in the past 10 years. Assange is ON A MISSION....and, we, the 99%-errs, should support it.

Infragard, Just thousands of such "Information Corporations" in the U.S., which collects data from paid sources in Business and Management around the country. If your Boss doesn't like you, he can "drop your name" with a Corporation like this, and have the FBI/CIA investigate you to death. It's the biggest growth industry in the U.S.A.!

InfraGard is a private non-profit organization serving as a public-private partnership between U.S. businesses and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The organization describes itself as an information sharing and analysis effort serving the interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. InfraGard states they are an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States.

Concerned about human rights, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) warned that there "is evidence that InfraGard may be closer to a corporate TIPS program, turning private-sector corporations — some of which may be in a position to observe the activities of millions of individual customers — into surrogate eyes and ears for the FBI". As of September, 2010, the organization reported membership at over 40,000 (including FBI).
